Ramesh has worked for more than 55 years in the industry as a practitioner. He has held
many positions in various organizations, such as maintenance engineer, reliability
engineer/analyst, process improvement manager, industrial engineering manager, project
manager, reliability manager, reliability & asset management specialist, and chief engineer.
Currently, he is working with ReliabilityX. Previously he has worked at Jacobs-ATA/Sverdrup
Technology- Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Tennessee; Carrier Air
Conditioning; True Temper Corporation; Bethlehem Steel; and HEC-Foundry Forge plant.
Ramesh holds a BSME, an MSIE, and an executive MBA. His professional certifications
include PE, CRL, CRE, CAMA, CMRP, and CMRT.
He is the author of several books, including the award-winning Maintenance &
Reliability Best Practices, now in the 3rd edition, 10 Rights of Asset Management, Uptime
Elements DICTIONARY for Reliability Leaders & Asset Managers, and Maintenance Reliability
Best Practices Workbook, etc.
He has actively supported professional societies such as SMRP, IISE, ASQ,
Reliabilityweb, and Reliability Maintenance Center (RMC) at UT, etc., for over 40 years. He
teaches M&R -AM best practices-related courses at several universities, such as Mississippi
State, the University of Tennessee, and Wisconsin. He is also a tc251/US TAG member and ISO
delegate and is involved in developing ISO 55000- Asset Management Standard.
Ramesh received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Reliability Conference Seattle in
2019. He was named an AEDC fellow and awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2020
at Arnold Center, Tennessee. He was named veteran 2014 CMRP of the Year by the Society of
the Maintenance and Reliability Professionals.
